Council Convention

Northern Lights Council Convention & Recognition Banquet

March 27-28, 2026 | Wanzek Center for Scouting (Fargo, ND)

Once a year, Scouters from across the Northern Lights Council come together for a weekend of learning, connection, and celebration. The Northern Lights Council Convention is a chance to share ideas, pick up new skills, and spend time with the people who help make Scouting such a meaningful experience for our youth. Whether you’re hoping to strengthen your unit, get the latest council updates, or just enjoy a fun weekend with friends who share your passion for Scouting, this event is for you.

The convention begins Friday evening and runs through Saturday afternoon. Throughout the weekend you’ll find a mix of training sessions, hands-on workshops, and program updates from council committees. Sessions are geared toward leaders at every level and are focused on practical, take-home ideas you can put into your program right away.

One of the highlights of the weekend is the Annual Recognition Banquet. It’s our opportunity to celebrate the volunteers who give so much of their time and energy to Scouting. This year, we’ll proudly present the Silver Beaver Award to five outstanding Scouters, along with several other recognitions for those who go above and beyond in serving youth. Silver Beaver nominations are open through January 30, 2026, and recipients will be announced in early February.

When you register, you can choose between two options: Full Convention Admission – $55 (this includes Friday night cracker barrel, Saturday breakfast, up to five classes, all training materials, and the luncheon) or Luncheon-Only Admission – $25.

Registration is open online through March 23, 2026. A detailed class schedule will be shared soon! For now, please nominate a deserving Scouter for the Silver Beaver Award and/or complete the survey for classes!
